Starting in October 2023, I supported Silkglobal Dominicana in developing various projects in the education, financing, and telecom sectors within the Dominican Republic, aiming to complete them within six to eight months. These projects were designed to innovate the local market and expand Silkglobal's client base. The development tools used were chosen based on the company's preferences, considering the need for future takeover by less skilled workers and budget constraints. Apart from offering them consulting and ERP services, I completed the following projects.
I helped develop the website for Coopeducate, a cooperative with future online banking capabilities that aims to provide various types of educational and financial services to people with low incomes, primarily students and their families. Additionally, the cooperative offers financing and other opportunities to telecom businesses seeking to serve suburban and rural areas of the Dominican Republic not covered by other providers. I also assisted Silkglobal Dominicana in evaluating their options for a suitable core banking solution to enable them in the future to build an online bank serving their customers.
I worked on developing the online presence of Unared, a telecommunications company in the Dominican Republic that exists as a label belonging to Silkglobal Dominicana. Unared aims to establish a national network of fiber optics built on top of a conglomerate of individual smaller networks owned by Silkglobal’s associates. Unared was built to support Silkglobal’s associates with dedicated bandwidth, TV and video platforms, IP phone services, and 4G/5G connectivity. Through infrastructure development and strategic partnerships, Unared is working towards a more connected future in the Dominican Republic.
I implemented the web platform for MiTelecom, a leading telecommunications service provider in the Dominican Republic, that offers high-speed internet, TV, telephony, and 4G/5G technology. They also sell Xiaomi products, with financing available. There are memberships for individual clients and businesses, with mobile plans including Internet Roaming packages, fixed services with prepaid plans, and combos like the Double and Triple Plans. They offer digital TV services, national and international calling services, entertainment with access to Netflix and Disney, and IoT devices for smart homes.
